Over the years we have been asked to provide a range of professional lectures at local, national and international conferences. Currently, we are involved in the following professional trainings:

Professional Education
Process of Parent Coordination
This presentation is targeted for professionals involved in the family court arena. The Association of Family and Conciliation Courts has multiple programs for alternate dispute resolution, Parent Coordination being the newest. While this program is new to South Carolina, it is already legislated in many states across the United States.

This program is approved for has been approved for 1 hour CLE by the South Carolina Supreme Court Commission on CLE & Specialization.

Conference Presentations
If It Looks Like a Lifetime Movie, It is Probably Fiction
On September 29, 2009, Dr. Baker Gibbs presents to the 2009 Public Defender Conference in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This conference is sponsored by the Public Defender Association. She will describe, from the forensic medical perspective, what a defense attorney should look for in sexual assault or abuse cases.

Interesting Options in Abuse Accusations
October 9, 2009, Dr. Baker Gibbs will present to the 2009 Guardian ad Litem continuing education program in Columbia, South Carolina. This conference is sponsored by the University of South Carolina Children’s Law Office. She will describe forensic investigative techniques that are easily available when accusations of abuse or boundary violations are raised during the course of co-parenting.

International Conference Presentations
AFCC: Investigation of Accusations in High Conflict Co-Parenting Partnerships – The Missing Link
The Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) has invited Dr. Baker Gibbs to speak at their 47th Annual Conference, Traversing the Trail of Alienation: Rocky Relationships, Mountains of Emotion, Mile High Conflict. The conference will take place in Denver, Colorado June 2-5, 2010.

Dr. Baker Gibbs will be presenting a 90 minute workshop on the Investigation of Accusations in High Conflict Co-Parenting Partnerships – The Missing Link.

The AFCC is an interdisciplinary, international association of professionals dedicated to improving the lives of children and families through the resolution of family conflict. It was started in 1963 and now has over 3300 members. It promotes a collaborative approach to serving the needs of children among those who work in and with family law systems, encouraging education, research and innovation and identifying best practices.
