Option 4’s Recovery Services are provided for those who have substance abuse or addictive behaviors. These services are frequently provided in tandem with the family services of CHAOS Recovery Management.
Assessment
Most people with substance abuse or addictive behaviors do not explore treatment options themselves. Their families, friends or partners are usually the ones looking for resources.
If you are concerned about a loved one’s substance use or addictive behavior, you may want to read the section in Our Services on Co-Recovery Management. Together, we will design a Co-Recovery Plan. Part of your plan will be a strategy for how best to invite your loved one to join you in recovery.
An Addiction Specialist from Option 4 will help us. He will be able to share his perspective as one who has been through similar experiences and give you some indication of what would work best depending on the circumstances you describe.
When possible, we prefer meeting with the Support Team and then privately with the client. It is critical that we learn his current phase of recovery. This is usually evident in the first two sentences of the discussion. We will then need to know his using habits, level of dependence and withdrawal symptoms, if any. Many times the Addiction Specialist will take the client to a neutral place for a more casual assessment.
This is a preliminary assessment. It may take three to five days for a full evaluation.
If you are looking for options for your own recovery, you can contact one of their Addiction Specialists directly to arrange for an assessment or you can use the online information form located in Contact Us.
Recovery Plan Development
There are many paths to recovery. Option 4 will help you design a plan for recovery that will work for you. They will give you information about the necessary components that are critical to success.
The path to recovery is rarely smooth. There will be many difficult periods and there will be times when you just want the comfort of your old behaviors. You must plan for these periods in advance. They will help you do that.
Plan Management and Coaching
Once you have a plan, and begin making change, you will start to feel better. The first three weeks are, ironically, sometimes the easiest. The most difficult period is usually around the fourth through seventh week.
Your Recovery Coach will help you get through those times when you can’t do it alone. They will also help you stick to your plan, especially when barriers seem overwhelming. At first you may need to have contact with your coach at least once a day. After while your new plan will become your new routine.
Even when you are doing well and no longer need frequent contact, your Recovery Coach will be available should you need help.
