Forensic Consultation/Expert Witness

Elizabeth (Betsy) Baker Gibbs, M.D. has conducted more than 10,000 forensic medical evaluations in the field of child physical abuse, child sexual abuse, adult sexual assault, domestic violence and rape-homicide. While child sexual abuse and sexual assault comprised a majority of her evaluations, she has been integrally involved, at one time or another, in every aspect of the interpersonal violence investigations.

Qualified as an expert witness in hundreds of court proceedings, Dr. Gibbs has testified in almost every jurisdiction in South Carolina as well as Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Virginia, North Carolina, Georgia and Florida. She has testified at federal, state, and municipal levels and her cases have spanned the civil, juvenile, family, and criminal arenas.

Unlike many forensic medical experts, she charges similar hourly rates for consultation and expert witness fees as she does for the other services she provides. This eliminates conflicts from undue financial gain.
